It was the fiercely competitive Mark Cavendish (GBR) of Columbia-Highroad, who sprinted the hardest and won stage 3 in 5 hours, 1 minute, 24 seconds. Norway’s Thor Hushovd of Cervelo Test Team was second and Cyril Lemoine (FRA) of Skil-Shimano was third.
